Re - INSTALLATION OF WRAITH ENGINE IN NO.30 TEST HOUSE. Order No.816. We send you herewith Arrangement J.16165 and details thereon, showing the layout of Suspension and Couplings for the Wraith Engine on the Bentley Test Bed in No.30 Test House. The Wraith Front Feet will be mounted on angle iron brackets fitted to the existing Pedestals, which are at present used for the Bentley Rear Suspension, and the Rear end of the Wraith Gear Box which overhangs the Engine Bedplate will be carried on a single pedestal, mounted on a pair of 6" x 3" Channels. J.16166 Coupling Flange will be used in conjunction with Coupling Shaft, to Arrangement J.15023, which has already been made up for No.33 Test Bed, and a D.P.X.4 Dynamometer which is at present at Shardlow will be used on this test bed in place of the present D.P.X.3. A further set of drawings for the Coupling J.15023 will be issued to replace those which are being taken from stock. This work should be carried out forthwith, as the Wraith Engine is expected to be ready for testing by Wednesday 13th inst. [Handwritten initials JV] EJJ/JV | ||
