Note from Mr. Royce regarding engine vibrations, compression reduction, and the quality of a Men magneto.

Ref. Mr Royce's note on M1/B3212. Members of the Tech. Committee 22.4.12. Re Engine Vibrations. TMM1/1.22412. With reference to the suggestion that the compression should be reduced by liners ¼" thick and that a Men magneto should be used with this low compression, Mr Royce says:- "The Men magneto is a poor contact breaker, otherwise I like it; if the makers make this part better we may decide to use this as our standard. The reduced compression may be cancelled as it is now desired that extra power is rather to be prefered to greater smoothness of running.
