We are now ready to move forward to the standardisation of this type of regulator but in order to do so we must have a number - say six - of the latest type mounted in as near as possible, the final manner

We understand that you have supplied Mr. Davis with two units, but these unfortunately have not the latest form of regulator, and also are incorrect in respect of the mounting of the resistance units on the front of the base.

It is proposed that we send you a number of bases complete with cutouts and suitable sub-bases; the latter giving sufficient depth of base for the accomodation of the various resistance units in the back. This will enable you to fix up the latest regulator in practically its final form, pending the arrival of the new base which we understand you are making. To this end, we can if you wish return the two units you recently supplied to Mr. Davis and also if the parts would be of any use to you a number of LR{Mr Ellor}/ regulator units.

We should be glad to have your agreement as soon as possible as we are anxious to get two or three units on cars going to France and undergoing standardisation tests.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
