Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X3035 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/ADL8.8.32. NICKEL CYLINDER HEAD GASKETS. We have now tested out the six nickel alloy cylinder head gaskets which you got for us to blue print E.55315. These nickel gaskets have given us very good results and so far we are perfectly satisfied with them. We cannot, however, use them on the standard cars because they raise the compression ratio and therefore the cylinder head will have to be specially designed for them in any future production. We shall, however, have an opportunity of using these gaskets on Peregrine and should therefore like youto obtain 1/2 doz. for us to test on this car. We think it is worth paying for these gaskets now that we have done these different tests experimentally as we do not want to be under any obligation to the manufacturers. We attach print of Peregrine cylinder head gaskets No.E.100091. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
