Complaint :- Noisy, over-run from 1600 to 1400 revs. on examination found :- Pinion Housing - instead of .002" nip on Pinion bearing there was .004" slack, this definitely is not due to wear on the adjustment washer. Driving Flange acme thread has been fouling housing cover and all the felt retaining washer was missing. Housing Cover GB.2018, faces not flat being distorted .002" Pinion Housing GB.2017, .075" radius in bottom of housing has a slight step at commencement of radius, this will cause false settings. Pinion Adjustment washer GB.2012/16, this washer varies .002" in thickness. Pin in Driving shaft for adjustment washer has been picking up due to holes in shafts not being size and pin allowed to revolve. Alum turnings in Drain plug.
