SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} X199V DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M10.11.30. Copy to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 27-EX. - FOR R.{Sir Henry Royce} We would like to know whether we have your permission to send 27-EX. chassis to Park Ward on the 26. Nov., to be there for a little over a week to enable them to mount the body. The only visible special features on the chassis as it will be when sent to Park Ward are the revised bonnet, radiator and dash. Of course this is not secret to Park Ward themselves as they have built the body. If we can guarantee as we believe we can, that they will keep the radiator covered with a Works muff, such as we did on 18-G-IV., we do not think there will be any risk. To send the chassis there rather than mount the body in Derby saves no end of time, and a terrible lot of expense, as not only do we more or less pay for the work of mounting the body twice (Park Ward, and Sanderson & Holmes) but we do not get such a good job, and any errors made by Park Ward are corrected by Sanderson & Holmes at our expense.
