contd: -3- 5. We have never considered that the present heated pipe is a suitable final scheme, or that its effect is all that we could desire. but we do claim that actual results have proved that it improves the winter running sufficient to give satisfaction to the user in the majority of cases. 6. It cannot be too strongly emphasized that we have taken theonly action possible for us to take under the circumstances to attempt to keep the cars running in winter, and that although it is not a complete success, we have so far received nothing definite from England in the way of an improvement. Unless we can be producing in quantities an improved pipe within eight weeks from the present, we shall have our Service Stations full of cars having the standard pipe which cannot be run properly in wintertime because of lack of a heated induction system, and we shall have nothing to offer them except our present scheme. Our cold weather troubles will start in all probability at the beginning of October or seven weeks from the present time. THEREFORE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO OVER-EMPHASIZE THE NEED FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION. Yours truly, ROLLS ROYCE OF AMERICA, Inc. Per. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Olley. MO/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} | ||
