Dear Sirs, We have to acknowledge with many thanks receipt of your letter of the 19th inst, addressed to our Mr. Armitage, which has been passed on to the writer for attention, and have duly noted your remarks in regard to our quotation recently rendered, in connection with Long Type 13 5/8" Driven Plates for application to your Phantom III. Whilst we can appreciate your reasoning as contained in the letter now under reply, at the same time we would point out that there are other points which need to be considered, and the quotation which we have rendered is the best we are able to put forward at this time in the absence of further experience gained in the manufacture of the Driven Discs in question, which are more or less hand made. In passing we would point out that the price estimated by your good selves for the manufacture of the Centre Plates at 16/6d was taken by us as a basis upon which to work, but we are in doubt as to whether this figure can be maintained. We are not sure at this time whether you were charged by Long Manufacturing Co: for the several 13 5/8" Driven Plates which they made up for you, but they have advised us of the cost of the hand made samples, which would no doubt occasion you some surprise.
