Starting by use of the starting plug and cutting off the air to the venturi, with the throttle in the slow running position can be obtained reasonably easy by hand.

Petrol Level.

With the level set .750 below the floatchamber parting surface the needle movement is limited to .075. The next lighter gauge float material would increase this movement to a safer margin.

The resonant type of air intake silencer as supplied is very noisy, and will require modifications to be reasonably quiet. Our most noticeable trouble is that if after prolonged high speed running, the throttle is partially closed, the mixture is momentarily very weak.

This together with tests for suitable suction piston and the metering of the carburetter is now occupying our attention.
