To D {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} /Thr. C to EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} RECEIVED X. 4342.R. BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /WER5/EF19. 5. 21. "GOSHAWK" II. - STARTER MOTORS. Re. Ordering of C.A.V, Smith and Rotax Motors. Further to our memo BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /WER1/EF9. 5. 21., we find that a Breather has now been added to the Crankcase on the near-side of the engine. The Rotax Starter Motor which is by far the longest of the three would foul this Breather and in order to clear same we now require the M.T.1.L. Motor to be shortened by at least 3/4". We would also point out that even when the Motor is shortened it would be impossible to inspect the Brush Gear without first dismantling this Breather, due to the fact that the Commutator End Cover is of the "Dished" type requiring to be drawn off end-ways in order to get at the Brushes. In view of the above we think it a matter for you to decide whether we should continue with the ordering of the Rotax Motor. BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /WER. WSR. | ||
