B.Y. ) FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} QX. ) C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} C. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL SECRET. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M7.6.29. PHANTOM - THIRD LAMP SCHEME. x8800 Sales are asking us to provide a bracket to support a special Lucas R.160.S. lamp as the 3rd. centre lamp on Phantom. We have sent the model lamp submitted by Lucas' to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} for fitting to a car. As far as we can see the lamp is too deep, and will not allow the starting handle to pass in front of it. Would Derby please confirm this, and send us a drawing of the lamp. We suggest that we should go on fitting the 180 mm. Stephan-Grebel to the remaining Phantoms, and that the R.160.S. should be used on the first SS.{S. Smith} cars, on to which it will easily fit. We will send a design for a bracket in a few days. So far we have not received the Lucas two way foot switch. We are writing to Mr. Oliver Lucas to urge the matter.
