1020 Rml2/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 23rd July, 1937. Maurice Wilks, Esq., The Rover Co.,Ltd., COVENTRY. Dear Wilks, Our bearing alloy has now reached a stage in its development where it is going to be put on the market. Supplies will be obtainable from High Duty Alloys. As we have told you, we have been running on soft crankshafts with success. We feel that lubrication must have been the major difficulty in your case. We say that we believe this material is lighter, cheaper and better than any other bearing alloy we have come across. If you can spare half a day, and would put a crankshaft and crankcase in the back of your car, we could tell you the whole story of our development work and make recommendations with regard to lubrication. I think that you should let us work with you on this job. Yours sincerely, | ||
