300a. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} c. to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}4/R.6.3.37. With regard to your correspondence to West about the new type Lucas Headlamp, we are still not clear what is actually running on 35-EX. We cannot find any trace of the first of the three memos you mention. The second one says that head-lamps are being modified by Marchals, and the third states they are being changed by Marchals. Sales are particularly anxious to standardise the new Lucas Lamp, and that is the reason for their being fitted on 35-EX. The fact that the lighting design does not exactly conform to the French Law should be no reason why the mechanical part could not be standardised. Will you, therefore, please let us know immediately what running has been done with these headlamps. With regard to exhaust systems, we should like to point out that we were not able to standardise the system sent out on 22.G.V. because the exhaust system was changed at Chateauroux without our knowledge. We do not want to be let down in the same manner again. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
