4¼ LITRE.

A.{Mr Adams} It was decided on general agreement to modify Section A.{Mr Adams} to read :-

"Large oil pumps should be fitted to 4¼ litre cars in all cases, when this has is fitted it will be necessary to block all cylinder wall lubricating holes in the connecting rod. High pressure gears may be fitted at Depts' discretion if the large oil pump, reduces an unsatisfactory oil consumption".

B. unaltered but add intermediate bearings to be grooved as K series.

C. It was decided that C. should be modified to read:-

"Drill the crankshaft pins and journals with additional lubrication holes and fit A.C.2 bearings. Inter.bearings grooved as B. Fit large oil pump."

D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} With regard to section D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} it was decided that this should remain unaltered it having been established if bearings have to be taken up twice they will ultimately have to be replaced.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Section E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} unaltered.

The attached sheet gives the present Works procedure with regard to the amount of nip on the bearings also the clearance worked to.

It is proposed to circulate the above information in Depot Sheet form.
