X4383 PETO & RADFORD, 50 GROSVENOR GARDENS, S.W.1. M {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /C.308. 30th Aug. 1923. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. X.4414P. X.4383. Dear Sirs, We are now able to answer yours of the 21st inst., reference EFG/T re charging curve of the 20 h.p. car. We have submitted this to our Works and they say that the charge that you have now arranged for is very much better than before and should help the life of the battery. They further say, that in their opinion, to make it ideal the peak should be flattened out by about half to one ampere, which we think is rather what the writer said when he was last at Derby. Our Works do not press this point but leave it to you to decide whether you will make a further modification or not. With regard to overcharge of batteries we told you previously that any batteries delivered after the 1st August would have our new plates, which would withstand this overcharging very much better, but we now find that all the batteries for your present order are made and so this improvement will not come in until the next order, when at the same time we shall incorporate the lead covered handle and the slightly thicker ends to the wood boxes, which you agreed to. Yours faithfully, PETO & RADFORD. I(sgd) G.R.N.Minchin. | ||
