Rpt. C. NOW. BY/Cgh.{W Clough}9/G.1.10.31. 20/25 HP. CHASSIS MATERIAL - 'T' SERIES. With reference to the second half of 'T' series, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} have agreed that material should be released and produced for the whole of the second half as follows :- 1/- New radiator with deeper matrix and all the modifications connected therewith. The radiator tubes are to be the large diameter .360 across the flats, hexagon ended dented copper tubes of the American type. 2/- Diamond engine mounting. In regard to the proposal to fit balance weights to the crankshaft, and the new type gearbox, it is considered that the Works should only produce 25 of the present standard crankshafts, and work from hand to mouth on the change speed gearboxes. For chassis from 151 to 200, work should go slow on all items which will be affected by the following modifications which may have to be introduced at the 151st chassis :- 1/- Crankshaft with balance weights. 2/- Connecting Rod to suit larger crankpins. 3/- Camshaft with new cams. 4/- Piston to give high compression ratio. 5/- Larger exhaust system. 6/- Increased diameter propeller shaft. 7/- Change speed gearbox with easy change silent 3rd. 8/- Sheet metal 3rd cross member (This of course affects [STAMP: RECEIVED 1 OCT 1931] | ||
