BENTLEY POWER.

Purpose of test.

Byt fitting similar parts (special) as used in the 1936 Tourist Trophy race, to produce a replica of the engine for use in the Paulin Bentley.

Method of Test.

Special parts are as follows.

Cylinder Head.

Ex.22954-A.{Mr Adams}

Pistons.

P.325 (strengthened Aerolite).

Induction Systems.

1 5/8" bore pipe and 1 5/8 carburetters.

Bearings.

Extra clearance.

Results.

The normal power curve with special parts is shown on graph S.77.

With special forward intake in position (Ellor) and corresponding forced draught, it will be seen that there is nothing to be gained by using the device below 130 M.P.H.

It is interesting to note the effect on the depression in the induction pipe. When using the forward intake it should be noted that the carburetters had to be balanced in the following way.
