THIN LUBRICATING OIL.

R3/M17.8.31.

x S 44.

Further to my memo. R4/M13831., I shall be pleased if you will get me 5 gls. of the best quality thin straight pure mineral oil - i.e. equal to a thin specimen of the straight mineral used on aero engine work, and 1 gl.{G. Linnett} of the best pure sperm oil.

Perhaps HL. would be able to say if the above would mix, and not separate out after standing in the can.

Can you find the oil which is used in compounding Wakefield's XL., which has always worked well on our cars, and what Shell are sending for use in France on the test now running?

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
