-3- No. | Test. | Date. | T.R.T. 29. | Power curve with large carb. and 36 m/m choke. Note ignition advance. (c.f. 20) 30. | Ignition - Detonation curves (c.f. 21) | SHOP - Remove modified No.2. Head and re-fit No.3. head with 1.850" valve. 31. | Power on standard timing using large carb and 36 m/m choke. (c.f. 26) 32. | Try 38 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} choke. 33. | Shorten duration, paying special attention to 1.0 and trying to reduce overlap. These tests, will probably take quite a while. Detonation tests are not considered necessary here, and it should now be possible to give a fairly accurate specification for the head and inlet valve. Also the effect of throat change will be known to a certain extent. | SHOP - The alum. head should now be fitted to the large exhaust valve block. 34. | Power curve with best conditions so far obtained. 35. | Try various exhaust valve timings, once again trying to reduce the overlap without power loss. Certain jobs will be carried out as soon as the parts are ready, viz:- new top hlf fitting and new coupling shafts. Further work will be arranged later. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J.
