B.60 & B.80 Units.

Will you please give us designs and detail drawings for the following.

(1) Chain driven camshaft on B.60.

(2) Existing B.60 crankcase and bearing cap drawings modified to suit 2.75 journal die. crank.

(3) Crankshaft in .4 carbon steel with 2.75 dia. main journals, R.R. balance weights, improved drilling of oil holes, and nose end to suit design of spring drive coupled with harmonic damper. If possible we should like to have alternative designs of a rubber and metal springs suitable for a common crank nose end.

B.80

(4) As for B.60 unit existing crankcase and bearing caps modified to suit 2.75 journals. This has already been incorporated on the 'Conventional 8', to RCD.1186 which engine is held up.

(5) Crankshaft with 2.75 dia. journals as carried out on the 'Conventional 8' to RCD.1186 but with nose end to suit the Harmonic damper with spring driven pinion. Similar to our request in item (3) and alternative rubber and metal damper design to be given, if possible with a common crank nose end.

When carrying out the redesign of the Buick type of leaf spring damper, the troubles experienced on our similar B.60 and B.80 damper should be reviewed with the possibility of obviating them. There are reported in our memo. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}2/MH.{M. Huckerby}1.2.38 and we have submitted a Buick type of damper which contains several interesting features.

In connection with the 2.75 journal cranks for the B.60 and B.80 units Vandervell bearings are used as
