Gear Lever.

Replying to your memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}I/R.14.2.38 regarding the gear lever which is being produced, we trust it is clearly understood that the rattles which we report with the present lever are not induced vibrations, such as were experienced on the earlier cars before the introduction of the isolated lever, but a positive clatter of the lever against the gate caused by the pumping action of the sideways movements of the top of the gearbox.
