-3- SHOCK DAMPERS. It was found that the maximum poundage of the governor unit at 70 MPH. was 35 lbs/sq." instead of 40 lbs/sq." which is standard. This was corrected by attention to the adjustment between the arens control and the lever on the governor unit. The minimum poundage has not been altered and is 12 lbs/sq." at 70 MPH. and below I.I/2 lbs/sq." at 10 MPH. The front of the car is free from excessive float and knobbli-ness with .008" clearance under front damper valve seats. Standard clearance is .012" and the clearance during the running in London was zero. The rear suspension is also less knobbly with the use of rubber in the damper and roll-rod links. BRAKES The brakes are good in all respects, and free from diving in front. STEERING The steering is a marked improvement with the Wraith wheel movement and is much appreciated. It is free from joggles. Slight reactions can be felt cornering on bumps, but these would not be complained of. The control is excellent in every way, and the steering superior to anything we have previously encountered. ................ | ||
