X4617E. BWT/Skn. c. to EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} ROY {Sir Henry Royce} /JT10/HP.29.1.30. 40/50 HP. Chassis Exide Batteries. With reference to your note EWT/Skn10/T22.1.30 complaining of trouble due to weak cell cases. Messrs. The Chloride Electrical Storage Co.Ltd. have inspected the container which we returned to you them under cover of our order R.8680, and have agreed to replace same free of charge. The makers point out it is most remarkable that a defect of this nature should develop, as the tests to which every ebonite cell is subjected to at their works before use are so searching that it is incredible that any inherent defect could fail to be discovered. The Chloride people are sending the faulty box mentioned above to their manufacturers for investigation and report. ROY. {Sir Henry Royce} | ||
