When he is satisfied with the gears get J.Warwick to adapt the scheme Rs.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}629/30. This cuts out the spring drive and makes the slipping action an independent feature. Run for periods, gear rattles etc., to note whether any change is noted from the standard system. (7) Continue induction pipe tests including trial of 1.400 pipe or other special parts as ordered by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} ---------- No. 2 Unit. Test card required for this unit. 25/30 Bed. C.17 Unit. Complete tests of effect on power both open exhaust and with silencer with EX standard camshaft giving different exhaust durations and timings. Full report and curves to be issued on this job. Continue with economy and distr' tests. Urge and find out position regarding convertion of this bed to Wraith. ---------- No.5 Test House. Ph.III No. 6. Unit for further endurance compared with last time following features are included:- (1) New W/M main bearings. (2) No.3 W/M blade rod bearing renewed. (3) Hall's forked rod bushes as in last test. (4) Camshaft whereby hydraulic tappet action can be deleted and valves set at .008 cl'ce (hot). (5) New .033 thick cylinder head joints in Klingerite. | ||
