INSTRUCTION BOOK.

With reference to the suggestions made in Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 22/E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 24.2.32, we think they are all good and are the best features of the Bentley book; well worth incorporating in our own book.

We might like to add one or two suggestions :- in Bentley book :-

Page 9 "General Information."

We think this information is very good and clearly set forth it makes our page of 'Leading Particulars' read like a catalogue by comparison. We do not think an owner is interested in half the information we give under this heading. In going over to the Bentley 'General Information' page we think we should entirely scrap our page of 'Leading Particulars'. We agree that it would not be advisable to include maximum engine speeds on the gears, but we do not think there is any objection to including the gear ratios which information is useful to the owner and it is very seldom that the gear ratios are altered.

With regard to the General Survey we think this is very much more useful to an owner than a lot of information we give in Section I of Instructions for maintenance; we suggest that this section can be revised with advantage to contain the best features of the Bentley General Survey and to omit a great deal of what in these days we think is rather absurd, viz. instructions how to start the car from rest,(pages 138/139) there is approximately two pages on how to change gear (pages 140/1/2.); several paragraphs on how to descend hills (pages 145/146): half a page on how to stop the car. (page 146.)

We think the Repair Depots would be more aptly described as Service Depots as suggested and also agree that the inclusion of a map showing the position of the Cricklewood Depot would be helpful.
