To HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to CJ. " " BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} " " DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ORIGINAL R10/G14/4/20 X.3981. RE REAR SPRINGS. X.2628 I should be glad if you and Mr. Day will have a set of springs made in the style we want to adopt immediately it is possible, that is, with ends which are thinned down instead of sheared with a coil end at the front,(as recently arranged with Mr. Day) the plates being made of flat steel and ground on both sides and fitted with ferodo strips with the hope that these will wear indefinitely without shewing signs of distress or requiring to be greased or shewing any signs of squeaking.
