x177 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.16/KW. 16th May, 1935. Messrs. Zeiss Ikon Ltd., 24, Mortimer House, Mortimer St.{Capt. P. R. Strong}, London, W.1. Dear Sirs, We are contemplating purchasing a cinema camera for examining various movements of motor cars. For these results to be useful we must be able to enlarge each detail picture. We should need to be able to take at least 64 pictures per second and would prefer 128. It rather appears that your new Movikon 16 mm. camera might give the required results. We see that the shutter speed can be very fast, so would imagine that with a really fine grain negative film, quite sharp enlargements could be made. We should be glad to hear whether you consider this camera suitable for our requirements, and whether a sufficiently fine grain 16 mm. film is obtainable. The most satisfactory way to determine the suitability of the camera would be by using it in conjunction with one of our tests. Would it be possible for you to lend us one of these cameras for a week ? Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
