and power to drive on a fan speed base.

A descriptive schedule of the various fans, the results of which have been selected for exhibition, is contained on each sheet. In the cases of Nos. 15, 16 and 17, the curves are not drawn, but a pair of points corresponding to each imaginary curve is given. The curves labelled (10), correspond to the previously best reported EAC. experimental fan, the two on sheet H being identical with those on sheet E with our EFC1/T17.12.24.

The fan, the performance of which is represented by these (10) curves is on 98-NK in France for the 10,000 mile test. It was mentioned that we hoped to evolve a fan which showed a still somewhat better performance than this (10), though we naturally did not expect as much increase as (10) showed over the other fans, i.e. 1, 3 and 9. The last fan of 23" tip dia. to be experimented upon gave the results labelled (14).

Then it transpired that the fan tip dia. could not remain at 23", on account of fouling, but would have to be limited to 22". To provide the D.O. with a fan to enable them to issue instructions for production, we had one made up of 22" dia. with blades shaped to our idea of the best result judged from our experiments to date. This was No.15, and turned out to be of sufficiently good performance to recommend for this purpose, being at least as good as (10) in spite of their reduced diameter.
