To Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KW.3.7.35. E.R. Hall's Car. We want to get this car out before the holidays. The engine unit and gearbox complete should be removed and handed to the experimental Dept. The shock absorbers should be removed and sent back to Mr. Hall, who is going to recondition them and let us have them back. Mr. Hall is supplying some "quick lift" Jacks which were used in the race last year for lifting the rear axle. He wants to know whether we can make any adaptors to fit to the front axle so that they can be used for the front axle as well. We have promised him nothing but said we would look into the matter. 19" rims with 6" tyres are being fitted to the front wheels. These are being sent down by Mr. Hall. He said he thought that the front wings might foul the larger tyres, in which case the wing stays should be bent to give the necessary clearance. We have been asked to supply a quick fill funnel, a sketch of which we are sending to you. We think that the brake drums should be removed and the brakes examined, but that nothing should be done to them if they have no oil on them nor show signs of having worn appreciably. We are going to fit a new head to the unit and return the old head to you. Hall would like this to be fitted to his second car which he is going to use for practice.
