re Lucas Magneto ER.6. type B54B with f.s.d.
With reference to your EFC3/T11.2.28 magneto No.B54A-426 was first tried out on a chassis for about 50 miles, during which time it was satisfactory for noise, and the firing was OK at high speeds. The magneto was next run on another chassis for about 30 miles, and tested for slow running, and in this respect was found to be inferior to the Standard Watford Magneto. During this test a knock developed, which may we think be due to the armature fouling the pole shoes, possibly because the ball races have collapsed.
The magneto has already been returned to you.
