Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X9946 BY8-P6.2.24. PN{Mr Northey}'s CAR. I would like to remark that the Side Steering Tube on the car of which Pn.{Mr Northey} complains about the steering, was the standard 40/50 since we instructed this to be fitted in our memo BY/HEB{H. Biraben}1/W19124, in accordance with your own request. I would also like to add that since this car has now unequal ended springs, that the geometry of the scheme in question is similar to EAC.ll, as proposed by WW. when radius rods were fitted. It is rather remarkable to note that apparently the heavy reactions which you found to be imposed upon the pendulum lever on the bumper appear to occur in practice with the radius rod design, even when the standard 40/50 balance spring scheme in the side steering is used.
