of providing a spark gap in front of the plug, and so
demanding less perfect insulation of the ignition plug.

(5) It is fitted with a R.R. special feature of a trailing edge
to the rotor, so that the engine can generally be started
on the ignition only by moving the hand control, and there
is no fear of the engine back-firing, should it be necessary
to start the engine by hand.

We do not know any system of ignition in which all these
advantages are combined.
