First of all let us take the American Car Radio. With the "Lets get down to business" attitude of the majority of American manufacturers they were able in the early days to get well ahead of British design and manufacture. Chiefly because they realised the fact that Car and Radio trades must work in co-operation with one another to produce an efficient job. Also the great number of car owners in America made a ready field for the sale of Car Radio, and gave encouragement and drive to the new industry. Up to three years ago American Car Radio sets were well in front. Their compact design, either one or two unit type, the manufacture of high efficiency valves for Car Radio, made them pre-eminent in the world. Also with the usual American thoroughness they got down to the servicing side of the business and today it is safe to say that they have an exceedingly well organized service system, which has not yet been equalled in this country, and the result has been that in this respect Car Radio is ahead of anything in this county. | ||
