between the tyre at the two inflation pressures illustrated in this test. Hence it may be said that the increase in petrol consumption due to fitting balloon tyres will not be more than 5%. This is confirmed by the results of our 10,000 miles test in France.

The appended graphs arranged from figures supplied by Messrs. Dunlops show how little is the difference in rolling resistance between a balloon and high pressure tyre when both are inflated to 40 lbs/sq.in. and that this difference accounts for less than 40 yds. in rolling to rest, over a distance of 1100 yds.
