84117 PN.{Mr Northey}1/WTG.4.31. S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}..from PN.{Mr Northey} Copy to [REDACTED] Mr. Walter Iden's "Phantom II". Chassis No. 119-GN. This owner has written a letter in extremely definite and angry terms describing the noise due to drumming which he is experiencing with his car whilst on tour in S.W. England. We gather that these noises are both [REDACTED] early and late, such as 20 m.p.h. and 50 m.p.h. You will remember the car was with you some weeks back when there was much discussion about the exhaust system contributing or causing the drumming. In view of the further and more successful work which has recently been carried out in connection with the avoidance of drumming as in the case of 129-GN and LHS{Lord Herbert Scott}'s car Chassis No. 112-GN we have written to Mr. Iden telling him that we are in a position to cure his car of the trouble of which he complains directly he will let us have it. We understand this may be in the course of the next week, and we will immediately advise you accordingly. The case is one of considerable urgency. PN.{Mr Northey} RECEIVED APR 6 1931 | ||
