Messrs. Ferodo Ltd.,
CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH.

Dear Mr.Longley,

We thank you for your letter of the 22nd. inst. and the fan belt report enclosed therein.

We should like you to send us the Gates "Vulco" belt which failed by stretching as we should like to examine failure and then forward the belt to the Gates people for their examination. No doubt you will take any details of same, figures, etc. before sending it to us.

We note in the report that you quote the fan horse power as 27-34 for the first fan and 24-26 for the second fan. We should like you to confirm these figures, as the writer's impression when at your works was that the first fan was absorbing approximately 18-20 horse power, and he does not quite understand the reason for the figures.

We have now received the Rotoscope safely, for which we thank you, and should be interested to examine the performance of your "Strobotac" when the writer visits your works next.

We note that you are supplying us with costs for pieces EXS.1008 and EXS.1009.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
