THE MODERN THERMOMETER CHEAPER & BETTER ROTOTHERM PUTS THE OLD THERMOMETER 'IN THE SHADE' up, lying down (or even upside down!). Whatever its position, the reading remains true. Secondly—response. Whereas the thermometer responds slowly the Rototherm responds quickly. Breathe on it, or even hold it in your hand and watch the needle creep up immediately! Thirdly—accuracy. Each Rototherm is subjected to last-minute adjustment and then finally sealed prior to leaving our factory. The exactitude of the Rototherm is certified by reports from well-known University Laboratories both here and on the continent. Fourthly—appearance. In complete contrast to the old type thermometer, the Rototherm always looks attractive, whichever of the many neat forms of desk or household instruments is chosen. It is available in a variety of designs which can be made to harmonise with any surroundings. Fifthly—readibility. The Rototherm is as easy to read as a speedometer. The illustrations overleaf are even smaller than the actual instruments themselves, but it will readily be seen how clearly the temperature is indicated. Sixthly—whereas the old type thermometer was fragile in the extreme, the Rototherm is almost unbreakable, and will stand up to the hardest wear. Its insusceptibility to shaking, contact of blows, is one of its greatest advantages. On all these points then, it is evident that the Rototherm is eminently superior to the old type thermometer. Last but not least, must be added the fact that the Rototherm is, speaking comparatively, even cheaper than the mercury or spirit column thermometer. All the many disadvantages of the old-type thermometers have combined to help us overlook the absolute necessity for some instrument to indicate the temperature of our living-rooms, etc. Adaptations of the standard Rototherm include models for use in the garden, greenhouse and on car-radiators, pocket thermometers for sportsmen, and the special bath thermometer. The Bath Thermometer has a rotating dial, which not only shows the temperature immediately in degrees but, while floating, indicates whether the bath is hot, warm, cold, etc. The shell of this model is made of bakelite in a variety of colours, and is practically unbreakable. The Bath Thermometer at 2/9 is the cheapest of all Rototherm models. British made by CORFIELD LIMITED ROTOTHERM DEPARTMENT Trafalgar Works, London, S.W.19.
