Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/KW.15.10.36.

We have been continuously at work on piston rings and oil consumption since Taub's visit, trying very hard to get the results he predicted, but so far the parts have not behaved as Taub said they should. However, we have a mass of information, and I am waiting for his reappearance to go over the results.

We have just put down a skid pan exactly similar to that owned by General Motors, which is most useful for steering tests; it is 80 yards in diameter, of flat concrete. If your people would like to use it at any time it could doubtless be arranged.

I should like to come to Vauxhall's some time to have a look round, as I have never been.

Yours sincerely,
