8.2.24.

BRAKE TESTS.

Will you please carry out the following tests on brakes and report to me.

Brake jaggers.

We wish to try on the toe of the wrapping shoe a 3" or more cast iron liner.

As soon as ever possible we also wish to try the unequal springs. These should be available in a few days.

We also wish to carry out a test to see how much the lean of the pivot affects the car being steered with unequal braking. We recommend that you make an extreme case - test a car first with vertical pivots - then with 1/4" backward lean.

RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} has now ready some set up springs which we can fix to brake ropes on a car to see whether the pull is equalised on all brakes. We should like a test made of this with the foot pressure and also with the servo working.
