E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Dept. c. to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Files 600 DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/G.31.8.37. SWDG WRAITH 111 - ENGINE OIL GALLERY PIPE MOVED OVER TO NEAR SIDE. Please receive herewith E.CD.44 Modified Oil Delivery to Oil Gallery Pipe - Wraith 111. As it has been decided to replace the Oil Pressure Filter with a bye-pass filter, there is now no need for carrying the pressure oil over to the offside of the engine, and the connection to the bye-pass filter will only require a small external pipe. The pipe passing across the sump should therefore be deleted. All the fittings for the oil gallery are as used before, only they have been re-arranged on the pipe, the pipe is supported at three points now instead of four, and the feed to the gallery is now central. Will you please detail and instruct for the next Wraith 111 engine, and also modify the crankcase to suit. The only outstanding information required for the crankcase is the support bosses for the bye-pass filter and the revised petrol drain pipe clip boss - we are working on these items at present, and they will be ready shortly for issue. Please note tubular dowels for sump location. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
