BUICK MOTOR DIVISION GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION FLINT, MICH. OFFICE OF CHIEF ENGINEER December 21, 1938 Mr. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby, England Dear Mr. Robotham: I am not surprised that you were puzzled by the wheel cap screw situation on the Buicks imported into England. In our American plants we use right hand cap screws on all wheels, and have for a number of years, finding nothing undesirable in the practice to date. Our Canadian plant however, use right and left hand thread screws in order to standardize their assembly procedure on the number of different makes of cars which go down their assembly line. Very truly yours, C.
