ALTERING DIRECT LEVERAGE BRAKING. X7430 In considering the cost of the change-over for altering the direct braking of S.S. cars, we note that a new counter-shaft has been specified in the scheme G.70804. While this of course is the better method of carrying this alteration out on production, we have not used it on any of our cars as to fit it necessitates taking the gear-box down. We believe that you are now on with a scheme whereby the three levers G.77583, G.77584, and G.77414 only are changed. An operation which can be carried out in about two hours without dismantling the gear-box, and which should be quite satisfactory as it has run 10,000 miles. If you will let us have the change-over scheme you finally decide on, we will fit a set to one of our Expl. cars. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
