To reduce noise. Experimental Test Report. With present carburetter and air inlet, there is are periods of noise caused by the air entering the carburetter which is amplified by the present air inlet. The proposed new air inlet does not reduce the performance in any way. Road Test Report. Run 3850 miles on 6-G-11. Run 2600 miles on 4-G-11. No trouble - engine is noticeably more quiet. A Scrap and replace at all costs, including Chassis already delivered to customers. B Scrap and replace on Chassis in works. C Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test.
