X.805. RE ELECTRICAL SWITCHES.

Thoroughly grease all electrical switches. It is often thought that grease may prevent a switch making contact, it actually makes better contact if greased, as it prevents oxidation by atmosphere. It also works so vastly better mechanically.

The small size switches in the West WitteringHenry Royce's home town drawing offices would have been a failure but for the practice of thoroughly greasing them with vaseline.
