For the attention of Dr. Benion Brown.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 25th inst. referring to the revs. per mile figure of the experimental speedos. which you are making for us. We are pleased to note that you will be able to obtain a driving speed of 798, this will be satisfactory for our tests, arrangements will be made for the bevel glass instrument recently received to be returned for this modification. We note that you have also been able to work out a gear train to suit the 778 speed, given by Mr. Davis.

With regard to the instrument for examination purposes, their is no necessity for this to be entirely stripped so long as all the important parts may be examined. How are you progressing with the tell-tale gadget for the rev-counter? We all agree now that this shall be behind the dial and no more apparent to the customer than is necessary.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
