-3- EB/144.B.R/McD.27.8.32.contd. While on the question of automatic boost control there was one point which we noticed during our journey on the '3F'. Since fitting the full supercharged engine with the take off boost limited to 1.8 lbs/sq.in. the 'take off' is definitely worse and more power cannot be obtained if in difficulty. It is interesting to note that both Sq/Ldr. McKenna of Martlesham and Major Green of Siddeleys both consider that an automatic boost control should permit the obtaining of high boost momentarily if found necessary for the safety of the aircraft.
