contd :- -4- for Continental touring in the summer. He is most attracted by the silence, sweetness and suspension of the 20 HP. but its performance is not good enough for him. He is delighted with the Alfa Romeo and is ordering two more similar cars only supercharged in spite of the fact that the chassis price of this small car when supercharged is £950. He agrees that if he was driven by a chauffeur to any great extent he would probably prefer a Phantom to any other car. This Alfa Romeo runs best under English conditions with the radiator 2/3 blanked off. It would therefore appear that it will not require additional cooling surface when a supercharger is fitted. It will be recalled that the Lea Francis cars boiled continuously in the Ulster Grand Prix. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
