Dear Mr. Skinner,

Bentley Petrol Pumps - Faulty Cores.
--------------------------------

Thank you for your letter TCS/DR. 9.7.34.

We are sorry indeed that this trouble has occurred and fully appreciate that the fault is not of your Company's making. However, we think that in fairness to both yourselves and ourselves all faulty pumps should be replaced.

As you already know, we have had one complaint of failure due to sticking and that there is the possibility of further failures, and in the case of a customer touring abroad a sticking pump would be rather an annoying let-down.

Perhaps you will be good enough to let us know the approximate number of pumps supplied with faulty cores, and at the same time the rate at which you could supply replacements without upsetting present production.
