No. 14 Referring to EFCl/T21123, I note that you thought it necessary to clean away all the brush dust from the brushes and their connections before starting to run, but is it quite clear that this was the right thing to do, as it seems to me that possibly excessive leakage locally between the brush and the armature might in itself be a cause of trouble in the direction of over-heating. Possibly in the dynamo I have just sent along you might, if the brushes and their connections are covered with carbon dust, try the dynamo in this connection in the first place. BY.{R.W.
