INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND FITTING OF RADIATOR BLANKING PLATES.

---------------------------------------

These plates are for regulating the temperature of the circulating water which temperature should be maintained at between 85°C and 90°C under normal working conditions, as indicated by the thermometer on the instrument board. Four different conditions can be obtained.
1. By fitting both plates as shewn in sketch 1. This may be required in Winter, or in cold Countries.
2. By fitting the wide plate only as shewn in sketch 2.
3. By fitting the narrow plate only as shewn in sketch 3.
4. No plate fitted. Radiator fully exposed. Summer conditions, or in hot Countries.
The chassis is usually delivered by Rolls-Royce with plate as described in condition 2.
The plates fit direct against the back of the Radiator under the bonnet, and are held in position by 4. bolts, nuts and washers for each plate, each bolt passes through an air space in the radiator, the leather washer provided fits against the front of the radiator under the head of the special bolt. The metal washer, nut and split pin, fit at the back of the plate. On removing a plate it may be necessary to clear the air spaces in the radiator from mud or other obstruction, this should be done by means of a stick of softwood, even then care must be taken to avoid damage to the radiator.

1. BOTH PLATES IN USE.
2. WIDE PLATE IN USE.
3. NARROW PLATE IN USE.
4. NO PLATE IN USE.
